This free family-friendly event will be held at the upper end of the Kite Field. Please bring chairs or blankets if you’d like to take a seat while you watch! 1860’s baseball is much different than the game we think of today. It was a gentleman’s game. Ball and strikes were only called if the batter repeatedly failed to swing at good pitches. Players do not wear gloves. Pitches are only thrown underhand. Integrity and respect are of the utmost importance.
Experience 4 Games of 1860s baseball featuring four clubs from 3 states including…
- the Black Stockings of Akron, OH,
- The Crossing Rails of Alliance, OH,
- The Canton Cornshuckers of Canton, MI
- Mountain Star Base Ball Club of Addison, PA (the hosting team)
Little Nicky’s food truck will be on site for concessions.
