Tom Roskos became the Executive Director of Buhl Park in January 2015, providing oversight for the administration of Buhl Park’s Finance, Human Resources, programs and activities, public relations, strategic planning, community outreach, fundraising and planned giving initiatives. Mr. Roskos along with the Trustees of the F.H. Buh Farm Trust ensures the sustainability and growth of the endowment. A graduate of Penn State University – Shenango Campus, Mr. Roskos earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Marketing with a minor in Finance. Having held management and executive level positions in both the private and non-profit sectors in many capacities, He was also a former World Long Drive Competitor who was ranked in the Top 5 in the world and golf entertainer who has performed and presented at 500 plus events worldwide. Mr. Roskos is also a graduate and Class A member of the Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA) as well as a Certified Professional through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), as well as earned certification from the Trackman University. Mr. Roskos also earned the Certificate of Achievement in Planned Giving from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

A member of several community boards, Mr. Roskos is on the Penn State Shenango Alumni Association and Business School Advisory Boards, the Valley Shenango Economic Development Corporation Board, Penn Northwest Development Corporation Marketing Committee and the Board of Directors of the Edgewood Surgical Hospital System.

Mr. Roskos’ honors for his community service include: Shenango Valley of Commerce (SVCC) Champion Business Organization in 2015; SVCC Award for Business Growth in 2016; SVCC Award for Business Innovation in 2017; SVCC 40 under 40 Award in 2016.

Mr. Roskos is passionate about the game of golf and the role it plays in developing healthy habits and values for all who play. His lifelong love of Buhl Park and its role in our community as a place for relaxation, recreation and socialization contribute to the many happenings that occur yearly. He has raised $7.1 million through planned giving initiatives for the growth of the endowment as well as more than $800,000 per year for the funding of programs, activities and operations of Buhl Park.

Annie Bucknell’s journey from Executive Assistant to Director of Facility Rentals and Events exemplifies her dedication and expertise in the industry. With 13 years of experience at The Corinthian, specializing in coordinating weddings, birthdays, graduation parties, and other significant events, Annie brings a wealth of knowledge to her current position.

Her role as the Director of Facility Rentals and Events role demonstrates not only personal growth but also a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Recognized for her excellent communication skills and responsiveness, Annie ensures her clients receive exceptional attention and care throughout the event planning process. Her commitment to surpassing expectations distinguishes her, as she consistently goes above and beyond to meet her clients’ needs.

Although she relocated from Sharon to Ohio, Annie maintains a strong connection to the Shenango Valley community. Her position as a Board Member at the Chamber of Commerce and active participation in volunteer work underscore her continuous dedication to the region’s progress and prosperity.

Under Annie Bucknell’s leadership, clients can expect tailored attention and expert advice in selecting the perfect venue for their events. Her extensive experience and enthusiasm for community engagement make her a valuable addition to any organization fortunate enough to have her on their team.

Julie Eckenrod brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role as Director of Marketing at Buhl Park. Beginning her journey with Buhl Park as an intern, Julie’s passion for the organization and its mission has been evident from the outset. Mrs. Eckenrod has played a pivotal role in driving transformative change and exponential growth, particularly in enhancing the park’s marketing strategies and expanding its social media presence.

An alumna of Sharon High School, Mrs. Eckenrod went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Media Art from Westminster College, where she excelled both academically and athletically, contributing four years of her collegiate career to softball. Julie has remained actively engaged in local initiatives, serving as a coach for Sharon High School softball and tennis teams for over a decade. Her commitment to community service extends to her role as Vice President of the Sharon Recreation Commission, where she has been a driving force since 2017. Outside of her professional endeavors, she finds joy in spending quality time with her husband Joe and their 3-year old daughter Addie.

Recognized for her outstanding leadership and contributions to the community, she was honored with the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce’s 30 Under 40 Award in 2022. As the Director of Marketing for Buhl Park, Mrs. Eckenrod continues to lead with vision and innovation, driving the park’s mission forward and ensuring its continued success.

A lifelong resident of Sharon, PA, Markee’s journey is marked by her unwavering commitment to service and her profound passion for sports. After graduating from Sharon High School in 2007, Markee embarked on a career focused on human services, where she provided invaluable support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those facing mental health challenges. Her dedication to enhancing the lives of others extends beyond her professional roles and into various community initiatives.

Markee’s love for sports is palpable in every aspect of her life. For over 12 years, she has served as a local softball coach, leaving a lasting impact on countless young athletes, most recently at Sharon High School. Beyond the field, Markee is President of the Sharon Recreation Commission and a member of Buhl Regional Health Foundation’s Healthy Community Collaborative. She also plays an integral role in shaping the future of Sharon as a member of the Sharon Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee.

In recognition of her remarkable achievements and leadership, Markee was honored with the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce 30 under 40 award in 2023. This prestigious accolade further underscores her dedication to excellence and her significant impact on the community.

Amidst her busy schedule, Markee treasures moments spent with her family and friends, particularly her beloved nephew Asher. Whether she’s strategizing community development initiatives or cheering on her team from the sidelines, Markee’s unwavering commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community shines through in all her endeavors.

Katie is a native of Western New York and has lived in the Shenango Valley since 2015. She has an ecology background from Grove City College and completed her Environmental Education graduate degree from Slippery Rock University. Her passion for outdoor learning began during her summers on staff at various camps in New England, bringing hands-on learning to life. She joined the Buhl Park team in 2017, shortly after Sandy’s Place Outdoor Classroom was completed. Ever since, Katie has developed outdoor experiences to engage all ages. She is passionate about sharing the outdoors with kids and adults alike, and loves to teach about all sorts of environmental topics and craft with natural or recycled things. It’s a great day at work when Katie can take kids out into the park to get dirty, find some critters, and inspire them to learn more. She’s also a member of the Shenango Climate and Rural Environmental Study Team where she has developed resources to help home gardeners grow sustainably and with an eye on the future.

When she’s not at work, you’ll find Katie out on hikes with her husband, Adam, or growing food at home or at the Grove City Community Garden.

Adam is a seasoned golf professional dedicated to enhancing the golfing experience and community engagement. Born and raised in Sharon, his passion for golf began early with many of his childhood days spent traversing Buhl Park’s “Dum Dum” from sunrise to sunset. After graduation from Sharon High School, his collegiate golf career flourished at the Division II level while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Slippery Rock University.

Since assuming the role of Director of Golf in June 2020, Adam has overseen operations and the course conditions have undergone a remarkable transformation. He is a PGA Associate and Operation 36 Coach. With a rich background in the sport, he has gleaned insights from some of the most esteemed figures in the golf industry.

Adam is a family man and enjoys quality time with his wife, Alyssa, and their two children, Adam and Aiden, along with a strong passion for cooking. Adam’s dedication to providing exceptional golf experiences and course conditions and his contributions to the local community reflects his deep-rooted commitment to the sport and the joy it brings to people’s lives

Ryan Voisey Picture

Since joining Buhl Park in 2019 as the Director of Operations, Ryan has made significant contributions to the park’s financial sustainability by securing and leveraging grants, resulting in the acquisition of funding for various enhancement projects and initiatives. Additionally, Mr. Voisey actively contributes to the long-range strategic planning of the park, ensuring its continued growth and success for future generations.

Furthermore, Ryan developed a plan to naturalize greenspace, aiming to sequester approximately 28,000 pounds (or fourteen tons) of carbon dioxide, underscoring his commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Notably, Ryan spearheaded the creation of a comprehensive memorial map utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which meticulously cataloged all existing memorials within the park’s expansive 300-acre landscape. This initiative not only honored the park’s rich history but also provided visitors with a meaningful way to engage with its heritage. Through his innovative leadership and dedication to the park’s mission, Ryan has solidified Buhl Park’s position as a premier recreational destination while exemplifying a steadfast commitment to community enrichment and environmental responsibility.

Mr. Voisey holds a Master of Science in Sports Management from California University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies, with a concentration in Athletic Training, from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his academic journey, Ryan maintained a stellar 4.0 GPA in graduate studies, earned Dean’s List recognition across multiple semesters, and received numerous accolades as an NCAA Scholar-Athlete while playing football and baseball. Beyond his professional endeavors, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, staying active through sports and outdoor activities, and enjoying the ups and downs of being a Pittsburgh sports fan.
